Children and worship: Children want to worship

In recent years, we have come to believe that, while congregations need to continue to work on making their services of worship "child friendly," very young children (ages 3 to 2nd grade) need to have their own space to worship God. These worship spaces need to be carefully and lovingly designed to meet the very special developmental needs of children. Children naturally and instinctively know how to praise God and they need the opportunity to express their understanding of God.

Through the Children Worship & Wonder Program your church can receive training, and ongoing consultation on how to set up and run a Children's Worship Center. Children Worship & Wonder leader training events are currently scheduled for the following dates and places:

May 16 to 18 First Christian Church, Deland, Fla.

July 11 to 13 First Christian Church, Torrance, Calif.

July 18 to 20 Douglass Blvd. Christian Church, Louisville, Ky.

August 8 to 10 Broadway Christian Church, Columbia, Mo.

All leader training events cost $100 per person plus the cost of the book, Young Children and Worship. If you want to know more about Children Worship & Wonder, contact Kaye Edwards at (888) 346-2631.
