Clergy care: Serving Those Who ServeThe Office of Christian Vocations is designed to support all clergy in the areas of spiritual care, health care, the search and call process, counseling support and clergy retreats. Pastors, this ministry is for your support and care. We are here to support and provide care as you extend ministry to your congregations, institutional ministries, military commands, and counseling to your clients. At Disciples Home Missions (DHM), we are well aware of our calling to assist in providing pastoral care for YOU. So much of your life of servanthood can easily be identified in joy but, also in pain. DHM will strive to work with you and your regional minister to provide a high level of care. Working directly with you via the telephone, e-mail messages, papers and books is just a fraction of the efforts we will give to you. The Office of Christian Vocations will be responsible for Black Ministry, Clergy Women’s Ministry, Institutional Ministry, Interim (transitional) Ministry, Military Chaplaincy Ministry, and Search and Call. The directors of these ministries will serve in full-time or deployed ministries. They will work with Regional Ministers to support you in your ministry. God has blessed us in many ways and it is essential that we allow ourselves to receive comfort through prayer, the scriptures, the Holy Spirit and from one another. We look forward to meeting you and walking with you in your ministry. It is written in John 17:20-23 "I pray not only for them, but also for those who believe in me because of their message. I pray that they may all be one. God! May they be in us, just as you are in me and I am in you.” “May they be one, so that the world will believe that you sent me. I gave them the same glory you gave me, so that they may be one, just as you and I are one: I in them and you in me, so that they may be completely one, in order that the world may know that you sent me and that you love them as you love me...."
