Synergy surrounds Disciples Youth Ministry strategy
"We came together to work for God, and God truly blessed our
endeavors," said JoHannah Hamilton, from Burleson, Texas, and

and seminary in Indiana attending a "Healthy Congregations"
seminar, led by Dr. Pete Steinke. One of the topics we discussed
was stewardship. In short, churches prefer to ignore the issue of
stewardship. Why? And the ministry goes onA Disciples pastor conceived the Light a Candle for
Children Forty Day Prayer Vigil Project. In 1996 DHM made Light
a Candle for Children a denominational program and now hundreds
Disciples, and United Church of Christ Churches, all across the
United States, participate in this prayer vigil. Growing community gardens at church"When someone asks me which church I'm at, I
just say the one with the flowers on East University," said
Patricia Yates, pastor of Village Christian Church, Auburn, Ala.
