Keeping children organized? It's possible with these steps.
CCF Group management

     Pray for each child, by name, each and every day.

     Take care of yourself, spiritually and physically.

     Always have two adults present at all times!

     Keep an up-to-date file on each child. Include the following information:

  • Name of parents or guardians
  • Address, home phone number, e-mail address;
  • Birth date;
  • Interests;
  • Allergies, medications, other important health issues;
  • Name of doctor and preferred hospital;
  • An emergency number;
  • Signed permission form for participation in outings away from the church.

     Keep meetings simple

  • Children are traditionalists. They love ritual. Develop some unique traditions for opening and closing your CCF meeting times and use them at every meeting.
  • Especially at the beginning of the year, when you have new children in your group, try to keep to the same schedule for each meeting. Once the children are used to the schedule, and comfortable with you and each other, throw in a surprise now and then. Change the routine to keep them interested.

     Involve children in planning and give children significant responsibilities.

     Communicate

  • Stay in touch with parents about how their child is doing in the group.
  • Keep parents informed about upcoming events.
  • Call children who miss meetings.
  • Keep the wider church informed about the activities of your CCF group.
  • Ask for the help and support you need to do a good job.

Have fun!
