Issues for Action

Disciples Home Missions and the Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) are continually seeking new and better ways to be helpful to individuals and congregations as they participate in social justice ministries.

We want to offer you and your congregation a new way to take action on social justice issues.

Action of the Month (Issues for action): This action will come to you by mail, three to four times per year. It will suggest an issue and corresponding actions that might be taken by individuals or the congregation. You may have a social action committee or outreach committee that would like to receive and act on these. They could also be used in an education setting. Each Action of the Month sheet will be accompanied by an "Action Fact" sheet that will give background information about the Action of the Month. Topics such as these may be covered: Global Sweatshops, Ending Violence against Women, Children and Poverty. Topics will cover both domestic and international issues.
