Biography
Mike and Barbara Lee are members of Graceland Christian Church in Southaven, Miss. Graceland is in the Tennessee Region of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). They live in Olive Branch, Miss. Mike and Barbara both have served as elders, deacons, Sunday School teachers and Committee chairpersons in the Christian Church. They have been Disciples since their marriage in 1965 at Macon Christian Church. They attended Winchester Heights in Memphis for 30 years before moving their membership to Graceland in 2000. Mike has taught the Junior Sunday Class since 1982 and Barbara enjoyed singing in the church choir. Mike cooked Wednesday night dinners at Graceland and mowed the grass until January of this year. Mike and Barbara both have been Counselors at Bethany Hills Christian Camp for Youth.
During the past 10 years, they have led youth and adults on Mission Work
Trips in Alabama, Kentucky, Arkansas, and North Carolina. They have been involved in the Pre-Assembly Mission work at General Assemblies for the past 12 years as well as doing local outreach through our home church, Graceland.
Mike has served as a Volunteer Coordinator for Disciple Disaster Response at Moss Point and Gulfport, Miss., since January 2006. They have recently accepted the call to be the Beaumont/Port Arthur Mission Station Managers.
Mike worked at Bell South for 32 years as a Special Service Technician before retiring in 1998. Barbara retired September 2006 as an executive secretary at Memphis City Schools for 29 years. They have a son, David, who resides in Memphis, Tenn.
