President of Disciples Home Missions

Disciples Home Missions is searching for a president that can lead this important part of the Church into the future. The Board is looking for a president that will be a visionary and courageous leader in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), blending the spiritual values of Christian service with sound administrative practices to accomplish the ministry of Disciples Home Missions, honoring its core values and those of the greater Church. As chief executive officer of Disciples Home Missions, the president's responsibilities include overseeing program development, particularly in the areas of congregational transformation, leadership development, faith formation and Christian vocations.

The successful candidate will be a member, and have a broad knowledge, of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This leader will show great skills in team ministry, directing staff, and nurturing relationships and partnerships. Among the president's talents will be organizational skills, management of budget and finances, and proficiency in problem-solving. This candidate will have excellent communication and administrative skills, and practice deep spirituality.

The president reports to the Board of Disciples Home Missions, works collaboratively with general and regional manifestations of the church, and serves local congregations. As a leader within the general ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the successful candidate will work with ecumenical partners in a fluid cultural and organizational environment.

Candidates should have a Master's Degree or higher from an accredited school. Disciples Home Missions uses the Executive Search Model and is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
