• A Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation in the United States or Canada;
• A new congregation started within the past ten years;
• Use of Building/Planning Service and consultation provided by Church Extension;
• Willingness to work within Church Extension, New Church Ministry and Vision Builders Ministry processes;
• Own or in the process of securing property;
• First unit construction or First unit renovation;
• Willingness to cooperate with volunteers;
• A commitment from the congregation to provide sweat equity—significant volunteer support from the members of the congregation;
• A positive growth profile or a profile that will be significantly helped with the construction of a building;
• Endorsement by the Region/Area (with a preference given to regions which are financially invested in the project);
• A Vision Statement which is mission oriented;
• Proposed building is a simple design that can be built by volunteers;
• A positive assessment by Vision Builders! of the congregation's and pastor's understanding of and ability to work with the Vision Builders Ministry program.
