Job Description: Generic responsibilities for summer Home Mission Interns

As Hosts you will be the onsite coordinator for workgroups participating in hands-on mission. Your duties might include:

• Contacting workgroups at least 10 days prior to their arrival to discuss details of their travel, outside activities during their stay, and housing issues.
• Developing a work task list for summer workgroups.  Procuring materials and tools needed for the projects.  Giving on site guidance to each workgroup.
• Leading orientation for workgroups in coordination with local partnerships.
• Leading worship on the first night of the group’s arrival (and when needed throughout the week).
• Purchasing food, providing menus, and organizing recipes for workgroups.
• Coordinating daily schedule and maintenance of housing facility.
• Leading Economic Justice Training.
• Debriefing groups before they depart.
• Reporting Incidents as required.
• Maintaining a working relationship with all partners involved.
• Compiling, reading, and discussing end of the week evaluations.
• Other duties as needed.
